The Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) has forecast a rise in relative humidity across the country starting Tuesday, August 5, and continuing through Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

In its statement on Sunday, August 2, the QMD also warned of potential mist or fog forming in some areas due to the increase in humidity.

Qatar has now entered the third month of summer, a period typically marked by hot, humid conditions and minimal rainfall. According to monthly climate data, August is usually influenced by surface-level low pressure systems and predominantly easterly winds — both factors contributing to the rise in humidity.

Historically, the highest temperature recorded in Qatar during August was 48.6°C in 2002, while the lowest was 22.4°C in 1971. For this year, the average daily temperature is expected to hover around 35°C.

Residents are advised to take necessary precautions, especially during peak heat hours and in areas prone to fog.
