The Qatar Central Bank (QCB) announced the closure of its special Eidiya ATM service, which had been set up to mark the Eid tradition of gifting money to children.
According to QCB, withdrawals from the machines exceeded QR161 million, with the service operating across 10 locations. A total of 52 ATMs were installed, dispensing Qatari Riyal notes in denominations of QR5, QR10, QR50, QR100, and QR200.
The initiative was introduced to preserve the heritage of Eidi while ensuring families could easily access cash during the holiday. Officials highlighted the strong public response as evidence of the cultural significance of the practice.
