Qatar's participation in the 57th Cairo International Book Fair represents a pivotal moment in the trajectory of cultural cooperation between Qatar and Egypt, according to the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Egypt.

HE Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani said the involvement in the event, which kicked off Wednesday, comes as part of preparations for the Qatari-Egyptian Cultural Year, especially with Qatar being chosen as the guest of honor for the 2027 edition of the fair.

His Excellency gave the remarks during a visit to the Qatari pavilion, alongside HE Egyptian Minister of Culture Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno. The tour included an overview of the pavilion's publications and cultural and knowledge-based materials, reflecting Qatar's active cultural presence at international forums and its role in supporting books, publishing, and fostering Arab cultural dialogue.

The ambassador expressed his happiness with Qatar's participation in this major international cultural event, praising the fair's extensive organizational efforts and its rich intellectual and cultural content, which reflect Egypt's historical role in promoting Arab cultural activity.

He also stressed Qatar's commitment to presenting a distinguished cultural presence that showcases the diversity and richness of Qatari culture, highlighting its intellectual and creative contributions and enhancing Arab cultural dialogue while supporting the presence of Arab culture in international forums.

For his part, Dr. Hanno said that cultural relations between Egypt and Qatar form a key pillar in strengthening ties between the two peoples. He highlighted the importance of deepening these relations in the coming period through expanded areas of joint cooperation and the implementation of cultural programs and events that reflect the historical and civilizational bonds between the two countries, while contributing to the promotion of Arab cultural dialogue.

He also noted that the Cairo International Book Fair represents a living model of Arab cultural integration, with the participation of Arab sister countries, including Qatar, reflecting the depth of cultural relations and facilitating the exchange of expertise while strengthening communication between writers, publishers, and creatives.

This year's participation reinforces Qatar's ongoing commitment to promoting cultural exchange and highlighting its contributions to the Arab cultural landscape on both regional and international stages.
