US Embassy in Doha Invites Visa Applications Ahead of 2026 FIFA World Cup

With the 2026 FIFA World Cup drawing closer, the US Embassy in Doha is reminding fans in Qatar to begin planning their travel early and complete the necessary visa steps for attending matches in the United States.

The Embassy outlined two main processes:

For Qatari citizens: Apply for an Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) at least 72 hours before departure. ESTA permits eligible travelers to visit the US for tourism or business for up to 90 days without a visa.

For residents in Qatar: Those requiring a US visa are urged to start their application as early as possible to avoid delays, especially with the surge in demand expected ahead of the World Cup.

The Embassy emphasized the importance of applying early to ensure smooth travel plans during this major global sporting event.
