Qatar Opens Applications for Military Colleges for Secondary School Graduates

Qatar has opened applications for eligible General Secondary School Certificate holders seeking to join military colleges under the Diploma – Other Ranks programme.

The Unified Standing Committee for the Selection of Military Officer Candidates announced that applications will be accepted from August 8 to August 29, 2026.

The application opportunity is available to both male and female Qatari nationals who hold a General Secondary School Certificate or an equivalent qualification.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must meet several eligibility requirements. Candidates must be Qatari nationals and should not be older than 26 years at the time of application.

They must also have a good reputation and conduct and should not have been convicted of a felony or an offence involving honour or integrity unless they have been fully rehabilitated.

Candidates must not have been dismissed from public service through a final disciplinary decision.

Medical fitness is another requirement and will be determined by the relevant medical committee. Applicants will also need to successfully complete the prescribed physical fitness tests and a personal interview conducted by the selection committee.

Documents Required

Candidates are required to submit:
•    A certified copy of the General Secondary School Certificate, or an equivalency certificate for private-school qualifications
•    A copy of the applicant’s Qatar ID
•    A copy of the applicant’s birth certificate
•    A certificate from the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau confirming that the applicant is not employed by another government entity

The committee noted that additional requirements or tests may be introduced if considered necessary during the selection process.

The application window will remain open until August 29, 2026, giving eligible secondary school graduates an opportunity to pursue education and training through Qatar’s military colleges.
