Qatar Luxury Classic Cars Competition & Exhibition 2025 to Kick Off This November

Doha, November 04 (QNA) - Under the patronage of HE Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of Qatar Museums (QM) Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani, the Qatari Gulf Classic Car Association (QGCCA) will organize the 6th Qatar Luxury Classic Cars Competition & Exhibition 2025 with the participation of FIVA from Nov. 19 to 23.

The event will be held at Medina Central, Pearl Island, featuring outstanding participation from the GCC states through a remarkable collection of luxury classic cars representing diverse historical categories, reflecting the prestigious status this event has attained on the regional stage.

Ahead of the automobile gathering, QGCCA organized a press conference to announce the event’s details, attended by high-ranking QGCCA officials and representatives of the exhibition and competition’s curators and supporters, including the Social & Sport Contribution Fund (DAAM), QM, and the Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al-Thani Museum.

Board Member and Secretary-General of QGCCA, Eng. Abdul Latif Ali Al Yafai, emphasized the importance of collaboration with partner entities to ensure the success of the event, which will see an unprecedented expansion in both space and number of participants, alongside the distribution of valuable material and in-kind awards, adding excitement and greater incentive for participants.

He explained that the exhibition will attract an elite gathering of luxury classic car owners from Qatar and the GCC. The early announcement via QGCCA digital platforms gave participants enough time to prepare their rare vehicles. The committee shortlisted 71 luxury classic cars from 180 registered vehicles for the competition and exhibition.

The vehicles were distributed across five categories established by the specialized judging committee according to FIVA standards. A panel of six race officials was formed, including four international stewards with extensive expertise in evaluating vehicles across all classes, who have participated in numerous international motorsport events, and two Qatari stewards who served in four previous tournaments.

The five remaining excellence awards will be presented to the best exceptional luxury car, the most representative and striking car, the best-preserved authentic car, the best-preserved local heritage car, and the Best Car in the Exhibition Award. Winners will be announced and crowned during the closing ceremony on Nov. 23.

Deputy CEO for Operations, Qatar Museums, Mohamed Zidan Al Zidan, confirmed that QM will participate with a single car, symbolizing engagement without competing with Qatari owners. He highlighted the creation of a special educational program to introduce school and university students to the event while emphasizing classic cars as masterpieces merging engineering, arts, and design.

Al Zidan added that 20 material and in-kind awards have been allocated for winners, including 15 prizes for the top three positions across the five categories. The categories cover vehicles pre-1947, 1948–1959, 1960–1970, 1971–1981, and 1982–1995.

Al Zidan highlighted that QM looks forward to ongoing collaboration with QGCCA to advance the Qatar Car Museum project, promoting innovation, design, sustainability, road safety, and inspiring future innovators, designers, engineers, collectors, and decision-makers.

HR and Administrative Services Director, United Development Company, Mishaal Al Jaber, emphasized that such events enhance community engagement and revive heritage with a modern approach reflecting authenticity and refined taste.

Programs Director at DAAM, Hassan Yousuf Al Obaidli, noted that the fund’s fourth consecutive support strengthens cultural and social identity and enriches events blending tradition and modernity, positioning Qatar as a premier destination for high-profile events.

Chief Marketing Officer, Hussein Omar Al Fardan, Al Fardan Automotive, described the event as a landmark in Qatar’s annual calendar, gathering classic car enthusiasts worldwide, reflecting the company’s strategic vision to boost tourism, the national economy, and Qatar’s global standing in celebrating classic car heritage.

CEO of Operations, Al Fardan Hospitality, Wissam Suleiman, highlighted participation as part of the company’s commitment to support national events, reinforce Qatar’s global standing in innovation and luxury, and enrich the cultural and tourism landscape.

The event aims to motivate participants, especially youth, to develop their classic cars and focus on historical and artistic details, increasing owners in Qatar and the region and spreading a culture of heritage preservation in a contemporary and elegant manner.

It also aims to introduce the community to QGCCA activities, highlight its role, encourage investment in the sector, and showcase the history and evolution of classic cars in Qatar.

QGCCA invites the public to visit the exhibition and competition, enjoy a unique experience blending tradition and modernity, and admire the splendor and legacy of classic cars in a cultural and recreational environment, supporting enthusiasts and owners of classic automobiles, which are artistic and engineering masterpieces from the world’s most prestigious manufacturers.
