Qatar Airways has announced a travel advisory banning passengers from carrying or checking in certain Anker power bank models, following an official recall linked to potential fire and burn hazards caused by faulty lithium-ion batteries.

In its statement, Qatar Airways urged travelers to check any Anker power banks they own before flying. If a device falls under the recall list, it must not be brought onboard.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), which issued the recall last month, warned that these products may experience internal short circuits, leading to overheating and potential fire risks. The Ministry confirmed that affected customers will be offered a free replacement, a gift voucher, or a refund through the authorized dealer.
