Commuters in northern Qatar will soon benefit from faster and more efficient public transportation as the new Express Route E801 is set to launch tomorrow, August 17.
The service will link Lusail, Al Khor, and Al Ruwais, providing a crucial transport corridor between these communities. With limited stops and buses running every two hours, the route aims to shorten travel times and offer passengers a more convenient journey.
Mowasalat Qatar explained that the Express E801 is part of an expanded express bus network designed to enhance connectivity across the country. The company described the launch as “a major step forward in developing Express Transport Services in Qatar,” aligning with the nation’s broader mobility and sustainability goals.
The route is expected to serve residents, workers, and visitors commuting between Lusail and northern regions, providing a reliable alternative to private vehicles. Mowasalat, which operates an extensive fleet of buses, taxis, and Metrolink services, plays a key role in linking major cities and residential areas throughout Qatar.
In line with Qatar National Vision 2030, Mowasalat continues to prioritize sustainability. Measures include the deployment of additional electric vehicles, the integration of digital and cloud-based tools to reduce paper usage, and water-saving initiatives at its facilities. Notably, up to 50 percent of greywater is reused for cleaning buses, reflecting the company’s commitment to environmentally responsible operations.
